The infrastructure for ethical AI data.
Uploadr is a licensed media marketplace connecting everyday creators with the AI companies that need real-world data to train the next generation of models. Every transaction is transparent, on-chain, and creator-first.
Why we built this.
Every major AI model in existence was trained on human-generated data — photographs, videos, text, voice recordings. Almost none of the people who created that data were compensated. Their work was scraped from the internet, often without consent, and used to build billion-dollar systems.
We believe that is structurally wrong. Uploadr exists to correct it — to create a marketplace where creators opt in, set the terms, and get paid directly the moment their content is licensed. No middlemen. No opacity. No scraping.
What happens to your files?
From the moment you upload to the moment you get paid — here is exactly what occurs, step by step, with no omissions.
Upload & immediate encryption
Your file is transmitted over TLS 1.3 and encrypted with AES-256 the instant it reaches our servers. It is written to an isolated private storage bucket that has no public endpoint. At no point is the raw file publicly accessible — not during upload, not during review, not ever.
Your file never touches a public CDN or open storage bucket.
Metadata extraction & indexing
We extract technical metadata: resolution, codec, colour profile, EXIF data (stripped before sharing), and a perceptual hash used to detect duplicates. This metadata is stored separately from the file and is used to match your content to the right buyer categories. Personal EXIF data such as GPS coordinates and device serial numbers are stripped immediately and never stored.
GPS and personal EXIF fields are deleted before any metadata is processed.
Human review
Every submission is reviewed by a trained Uploadr reviewer — not an algorithm. Reviewers assess technical quality (resolution, compression, lighting), commercial suitability (is this the kind of data AI companies pay for?), and content compliance (no illegal content, no identifiable private individuals without consent, no sensitive locations). Reviewers access files through a permissioned internal tool. Every file access is logged with a timestamp and reviewer ID.
Reviewers cannot download files — they view them in a read-only internal tool.
Listing & buyer matching
Approved content enters our private catalogue — visible only to vetted enterprise buyers who have signed our data licensing agreement. Buyers search by category, resolution, file type, and content attributes. They never see your name, email, or any personal information. All you see on your end is a category tag and an approval status.
Buyers see the content and metadata only — never your identity.
License deal & on-chain record
When a buyer selects your content, a non-exclusive license agreement is executed automatically. The license grants the buyer the right to use the file for AI training purposes. It does not transfer copyright. You retain full ownership and can continue using, selling, or publishing the same content elsewhere. The license terms, the content hash, the buyer (identified by their wallet), and the payment amount are all recorded as a transaction on the Solana blockchain.
The license is non-exclusive. You keep copyright and can sell the same content again.
Payment to your wallet
Payment is released to your Solana wallet address automatically when the license is executed — no manual approval, no delay. The on-chain transaction hash is visible in your dashboard and verifiable on any Solana block explorer. Transaction fees are covered by Uploadr; you receive the full agreed amount.
Settlement is typically complete within 30–60 seconds of deal execution.
Who buys your data?
Our buyers are AI research labs and product companies that need large volumes of licensed, high-quality media to train and fine-tune their models. They range from large language model companies training vision capabilities to autonomous vehicle companies building perception systems.
Every buyer goes through a vetting process before gaining access to the catalogue. They must sign our data licensing agreement, agree to permitted use restrictions, and provide verifiable corporate identity. We do not work with buyers who have a history of non-consensual data acquisition.
Typical buyer categories
- Computer vision labsTraining object detection, scene understanding, and image classification models.
- Generative AI companiesBuilding image and video generation models that require real-world training data.
- Autonomous vehicle firmsConstructing perception datasets for pedestrian detection and environment mapping.
- Medical AI researchersDeveloping diagnostic systems using real photographic and video data.
- Robotics companiesTraining spatial reasoning and manipulation models on real-world footage.
Your rights, in plain language.
Legal documents are deliberately complex. Here is what the Uploadr license actually means for you, written without the jargon.
You keep copyright
The license we sell is non-exclusive. You remain the copyright owner of every file you upload. Uploadr never acquires copyright — only a limited, specific right to sublicense the file for AI training.
You can sell it elsewhere
Because the license is non-exclusive, you are free to list the same content on stock platforms, sell prints, license it to other buyers, or use it in your own work. There is no exclusivity clause.
Permitted use is limited
Buyers may only use licensed content for AI model training and evaluation. They may not publish the content publicly, use it in marketing material, or sublicense it to third parties outside their direct AI development work.
You can withdraw content
You may request removal of your content from the active catalogue at any time. Content already included in a completed training dataset cannot be retroactively removed from a model, but it will not be licensed to any new buyer after your removal request.
GDPR & data subject rights
If you are an EU resident, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data. Your uploaded files are not personal data under GDPR unless they contain images of you — in which case you are both the data controller and the copyright holder.
No perpetual lock-in
Your account and your content are yours to close and remove at any time. We do not require a minimum listing period or charge fees for early removal.
How we protect your files.
Security is not a feature — it is a precondition. Creators are trusting us with potentially commercially sensitive content. That trust requires a technical architecture that does not rely on policy alone.
Our storage layer has no public endpoints. Files cannot be accessed via a guessed URL. Every access — including by our own reviewers — requires a time-limited signed token that is logged, auditable, and tied to a specific authenticated identity.
How payments work on Solana.
We chose Solana for payments because it settles in under a second, costs a fraction of a cent per transaction, and creates a permanent, public, independently verifiable record of every payout. There is no way for Uploadr to secretly withhold, reduce, or reverse a payment that has been broadcast to the network.
When a license deal is executed, a smart contract automatically splits the payment: your share goes directly to the wallet address registered in your profile. Uploadr's fee is deducted at the source — you never send us anything. The transaction receipt in your dashboard links directly to the on-chain record.
